I ran the WXP SP2 update a couple of times on my HP NX7000 laptop. The update
completed successfully both times, and the machine operated correctly in all
instances of programs with one exception.
When I made dial-up calls to my company's RAS server, and get the server to
perform the call-back, the machine would completely hang on receiving and
sending modem traffic.
I tried with AC and battery power, both showed same results.
I tried single or multiple Iexplorer windows, same results.
All the latest drivers were loaded.
There was no indication that it was based on any time frame, and the machine
state was irrecoverable (ctrl+alt+del didn't work - had to hard power the
machine).
Has anyone experienced anything similar?
