I'm not the greatest X-Box source you are going to find, but you don't need
to connect your PC and X-Box to get on X-Box Live, you need to connect your
X-Box to the internet, likely via a router in your home network. You
directly interface with X-Box Live via the X-Box. You can access X-Box Live
from your PC as well to buy credits I believe, see scores, be social.
The point of attaching the 360 to the Media Center is to use the 360 as a
Media Center Extender, nothing to do with X-Box Live. I sort of get the
error in this respect. What you didn't mention is what OS are you running on
the PC. If Win 7, it sounds like it is saying Win 7 isn't able to use the
Media Center Extender feature of X-Box 360. I don't know that to be true,
but it is indicating your OS is too new, and you need to back up to Vista or
XP MCE 2005 with rollup 2.
