I installed SP2 from Action Pack disk. I then went to update site for the
latest updates. Everything ran, but computer did not reboot. Now computer
loops through the windows monicor screen if not touched,, and will not reboot
into saf mode - it just does the same thing. I need to restore system to
preupdate status, but have no bootable HDD. I have bootable symantec and
windows XP Pro, as well as an XP upgrade disk. One thing to note is that I
think this hard drive has a virus/worm. Of course, if I can get the thing
running again I will be able to exterminate the virus. I also have a USB hard
drive with no xp boot, and an IDE drive with an XP Pro boot from a much newer
computer, at my disposal if that makes a fix easier.
