xp files and programs to vista

hi i just installed vista over xp and i know
http://neosmart.net/forums/index.php?gettopic=38&p=1 tells you how to install
xp back and remove vista but i kinda gave up on that ...
i was wondering if you could just transfer all the files in teh windows.old
file and put it in the vista windwos file so tha all my programs and games
and files work.. would it work?

The data files, yes, should work. The programs will have to be
re-installed, unless you can figure out a way to transfer each of the
registry keys and then modify each one to Vista specs.
