Each time i do update, xp sp1 appears as needed. It
downloads and installs very fast, the history says
installed ok, but next boot it is required again. Also,
the program defaults / access piece is missing from start
menu. Add/remove programs shows about 30 kb fixes w/ sp1
on them, do i really need to uninstall & reboot after each
removal since sp1 first tried? Can the sp1 be 'forced' toi
re-apply all patches somehow?

I had the same thing show up after I did updates on 7/29/04. Posted a
question here but never got a response.
