Hello

I was wondering how to update my XP to sp3, I don't have any service pack,
it just says, Home edition.
I just reinstalled my system from a series of recovery disk wich had no SP
included.

Thanks

Download Windows XP Service Pack 2 (to a newly created folder on your PC)
directly from Microsoft's download site.
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...ayLang=enNote: This file is 266MB in size but will only install the components thatyou need. After the download has completed, double click on the file(WindowsXP-KB835935-SP2-ENU.exe) to install.Service Pack 2 (SP2) contains Service Pack 1 so XP users without any servicepack installed can install SP2 without first installing SP1.Then install Service Pack 3.--JShttp://www.pagestart.com

Back-up any personal data (none of which should be considered 100%
trustworthy at this point) then do a format & clean install of Windows.
Please note that a Repair Install (AKA in-place upgrade) will NOT fix this!

cf. http://michaelstevenstech.com/cleanxpinstall.html#steps

After the clean install, you'll have the equivalent of a "new computer" so
take care of everything on the following page before otherwise connecting
the machine to the internet or a network and before using a USB key that
isn't brand-new or hasn't been freshly formatted:
