As suggested here, I copied ssmypics.scr from my XP laptop and pasted i
into C:\Windows\System 32 in my Vista laptop

It runs fine, just the things I want such as showing the filenames

But when I have this screensaver enabled and put the laptop into Dee
Sleep by clicking the button or shutting the lid, the laptop won't wak
up! If I pick a different screensaver, no problem

I'm having a difficult time trying to figure out why you would start a
screensaver and then put your computer into "Deep Sleep" in the first
place.

I'm sorry I was not more clear

When ssmypics.scr is the default screensaver, not when it is activel
running, and I then put the laptop to sleep, I cannot wake it, be it
minute later or the next morning

The choice is yours: the screensaver (from XP) or the ability to wake
the computer from sleep.

Other choice: turn the damned computer off instead of putting it to
sleep.
