xp pro sp2 update error

hi, i have recently installed spk2 on xp pro, and most of it works well.
however i can no longer use windows update. when i try to update, it takes me
to windows update v5 site, and i get this error message

"To install items from Windows Update, you must be logged on as an
administrator or a member of the Administrators group. If your computer is
connected to a network, network policy settings might also prevent you from
completing this procedure."

"Error number: 0x8DDD0002"

now i am logged on as as admin, and my firewall and AV were disabled. has
anyone else has this problem, or know a fix for it. any help would be great.

It may not be your account that this error is reporting on.
Find out from the log which PID is sending the message.
Then use Task Manager to find out which account that PID
is being run under.

Note: on Task Manager check the box on the Processes tab
to Show processes from all users.

Have you restricted the permissions of the other utility accounts
in any way?
