I have a AMD 64 bit laptop running my own version os XP Pro (purchased by
myself) and I am having huge problems getting it installed.

After installing the laptop reboots and I get the new boot up screen. At
this point it freezes and I have to enter safe mode to uninstall it to get my
laptop working.

I have mailed Microsoft and I am not happy with the responces of having to
uninstall partically everything I have on my laptop (may as well start from
scratch if thats the case) and they are now saying that it is my bios(???).

How could that be, if it was the bios then shouldn't only the version of XP
that was shipped with the laptop should work?

In most cases yes. The safest laptop to purchase to eliminate
these kind of problems is IBM. These are proprietary software
and hardware issues, not Microsoft.

Hello,

You may want to try deactivate L1 and L2 cache... there is a known issue
with AMD64... after that and if it's solved you need to upgrade your bios...
try check in the manufacter to see if there is any new bios version... it
should be a simple process of getting it and the create a boot disk and
running it.
