XP Pro SP2 Update/Uninstall Problems

Installed SP2 on four XP Pro computers in our workgroup, all different
brands. Everything worked fine for about a day. Overnight all the computers
lost ability to access the Internet through the router. When rebooted the
next day, all computers lost all connections to the LAN.
After hours of trying to get them connected, we uninstalled SP2 on all four
computers. Although it seemed to uninstall ok, we still do not have
connectivity. None of the computers recognizes the router, only two
workstations can connect to the LAN (but not the server), and the uninstall
process stripped all four of their printer drivers and the after-uninstall
systems will not allow new printer drivers to be reinstalled.
This has been lots of fun. Thanks Microsoft....I think the security problems
were easier to deal with.
Most people with similar problems can't access this site to comment as they
can't connect to the internet, , but if anyone has had such an experience and
recovered, we could use your advice. Also, if anyone else has some ideas.....

System Restore to a time before you installed SP2.

In the TCP/IP properties for the LAN connections, General tab, Advanced
button, Options tab, TCP/IP filtering properties, TCP/IP filtering
dialog, check Enable filtering, the select Permit All if Permit Only is
selected for all protocols/ports.
