Attempts to download and install XP SP2 on a current model Toshiba laptop are
constantly failing to install giving error message 80200010.

My computer is a stand alone dial up system and though containing a network
card I am not connected to any network other than my dial up to the Internet.

Why therefore, should the Network Card be enabled and more to the point how
do I enable it?

if unable to be enabled is there a work around to install SP2

TIA

Hi,
This error will be seen if the network connection got disconnected due to
some reason. This is especially frequent on dial-up connections.
There is no need to enable network card if you are only using dial-up
connection.

Please reconnect the dial-up and try the download again. It will continue
from where it left off in the previous download attempt.
Please let us know if the dial-up connection was not disconnected when you
saw this error

Sudheer,

Thanks for taking the time to respond.
Though I was of the opinion that I was still connected as
the install failed, I must confess that in retrospect I am
nnow not to sure.
As you suggest I will try again and let you know the
outcome.

Best regards
