XP Professional SP2 update error - Access Denied

I received the error 'Access Denied' error. In searching the knowledge base
I found reference to a 'permissions error' on a key in the registry. Can
anyone help point me to what key could cause this? Attached is a clip from
my SVCPACK file from where the first error is received. I have full ADMIN
rights with the ID I am signed on to - - Help!

2885.578: Num Ticks for Copying files : 1007172
2885.609: DoRegistryUpdates:SetupInstallFromInfSection Failed for
ProductInstall.GlobalRegistryChanges.Install error: 0x5
2885.609: INF_REGISTRY Failed
2885.609: DoInstallationoRegistryUpdates failed
2890.422: Unregistration of sprecovr successful
2890.609: Access is denied.
3124.828: Message displayed to the user: Access is denied.
3124.828: User Input: OK
3124.844: Service Pack 2 installation did not complete.

Select 'OK' to undo the changes that have been made.
3126.109: Message displayed to the user: Service Pack 2 installation did not
complete.

Select 'OK' to undo the changes that have been made.
3126.109: User Input: OK
3126.109: Starting process:
C:\WINDOWS\$NtServicePackUninstall$\spuninst\spuni nst.exe /~ -u -z
3687.078: Software Update Rollback has completed with return code 0xbc2.
This rollback requires a reboot.
3687.078: Service Pack 2 installation did not complete.

Windows XP has been partially updated and may not work properly.
3818.312: Message displayed to the user: Service Pack 2 installation did not
complete.

Windows XP has been partially updated and may not work properly.
3818.312: User Input: OK
3818.312: Update.exe extended error code = 0x5
