XP reinstall question

After I upgraded my primary drive from a 3.2 quantum fireball to a 160 WD I
was not able to use my product key. I know there is an known issue but I
could not find the KB. My question: Is there a way to reactivate a product
key?

Known issue?
If your Product Key worked with that same CD before it will still work.

Look very closely, S-5, B-8, O-0 and others look alike.
Have someone else try, sometimes another set of eyes and fingers can get it
right.
