XP service pack 2 and UMAX scanner conflict

Have tried to install SP2 but computer constantly
reboots. Microsoft states to uninstall driver for scanner
but I can't find it. I have uninstalled program but SP2
still won't install. Now I have reinstalled SP1 and
everything is OK but would like to have SP2 on computer.
How do I uninstall driver?

Feel fortunate you computer works after trying to install
SP2. Do not do it. I have tried twice and both times no
programs worked. I unistalled it and it still ate up 1
Gig.

Try this, Gail. Go to Start/Control Panel/Admin
Tools/Computer Management/Device Drivers/Imaging/(select
your Umax, dbl click, open Properties/Drivers. Write
their paths down, find them and delete.
