I posted a message about a xp download that was 530mg and growing. Shenan
Stanley suggested I download xp service pack 2 stand-alone IT version which I
did. At extraction the file stated it was corupt. any ideas? I'm beginning to
think there is a problem the download root software itself. I am also having
similar problems with my norton 2006 antivirus live update system( almost
identical problems).HELP please.

One should try to continue in the same thread as the original message.

In regards to the SP2 download, how is it being downloaded --- via a
DUN with disconnects to the ISP or very slow broadband with timeouts?
The SP2 download should be done in one continuous stream and results in
a file of around 278 MB.

Hi there,

You are giving to little information to pinpoint the problem. Are you using
a download manager, does this occur with all files you download etc.

Do you have an Nvidia chipset and Nvidia access manager.( NAM ) installed?

Best regards,
Michel Denie

Click Start, Choose Run, In the Run box, type services.msc.
Click OK.
Right-click the Automatic Updates service.
Select Properties.
Under Service status, click Stop.
Click OK.

2. Delete the Contents of the DataStore and Download folders.
Click Start, Choose Run, In the Run box, type %windir%\SoftwareDistribution
Click OK.
Delete the contents of both the DataStore and Download folders

3. Start the Automatic Updates Service
Click Start, Choose Run, In the Run box, type services.msc.
Click OK.
Right-click the Automatic Updates service.
