XP Service Pack 2 installation issue

I have XP SP1 currently on my PC. I tried downloading XP SP2 using Windows
Updater (as suggested on microsoft website). However, even after the
installation, I still see XP SP1 when I check on System in Control Panel.
Also, I do not see Popup Blocker option under Tools in Internet Explorer
(even IE shows SP1).
Please advise.
