Xp Service pack 2 reinstall

Problem...used recovery disk to repair windows....now it doesn't recognize
that it has service pack two and won't use any of the installed services and
drivers, but window's update won't let me redownload and install it.....I
need to reinstall it or find out how to get the computer to refind sp2 or am
I missing something?
