XP Sevice Pack 2 wizard will not launch

When I double click on the sp2 self-extracting cabinet file, all the
files extract properly, but the xp sp2 wizard fails to launch.

- I am running XP service pack 1
- There are no error messages, the files extract and then it stops, the
wizard never starts
- I downloaded the WindowsXP-KB835935-SP2-ENU.exe file from MS and followed
the steps for installation.

Any suggestions as to what is going wrong?

Try execute the package name with "-x" parameter.
This command will just extract the files.
After this execute update.exe inside i386 folder.

Try downloading again or ordering SP-2 on CD, Step 1 on this page:
