My buddy has a Dell Dimension 3000 with XP and SoundMAX audio. When windows
starts up, music plays, etc. his sound clips all the time. I have checked out
device manager and don't seem to see any problems...can someone help??

Hi there,

You should check in a group for hardware issues,

This group here is meant for problems with windows update.

Try to find an updated driver at Dell.

Hi there,

This is not a windows update issue but a hardware issue.

It is a known problem with soundmax audio devices.

when i try to use windows media playere it says there is a problem with the
sound device. so can you help me please?

Please start a new thread in the Windows XP or Windows Vista newsgroup, or the
Windows 7 forum, depending on which is appropriate for you.
