I am new to solving software issues, so I am just going to walk everyone
through what I did and hope someone can offer a solution b/c I need one, like
yesterday!

1. I was using my fax component and Microsoft Shared Fax driver to send
faxes from MS Word.

2. I downloaded SP2 ( I thought I downloaded SPs 1&2, but only 2 according
to my history.).

3. My modem quits working.

4. I uninstall and reinstall my modem driver.

5. My modem starts working again after I change COMs and I can connect to
the internet.

6. Fax won't work. (get 3 different error messages about it not being found)

7. Uninstall and reinstall fax component.

8. Still get same messages.

Help please! A friend a school said there might be a hot pack to fix this,
but I don't even know what a hot pack is. And when I searched on
Microsoft.com the only updates I found for fax did not seem to apply.

Hi,
I've got same problem. Fax is inop after SP2. "Microsoft Shared Fax Driver
not installed", displayed whenever I try to use my fax, but it worked fine
before. How do I find and reload this darn thing so I can fax again? Where
do I look for this driver, Microsoft, Conexant or Dell? It must have been
corrupted somehow.
I don't think much help will be found here but I'm desparate!
Till later, reddhawk, out.

I'm having exactly the same problem, and I can't find a solution either.
