XP SP2 and April12th 2005

When MS put in a mechanism for Admins to not download SP2 back in
August, they stipulated that the 'avoidance' mechnism would expire on
12th April 2005

.. Does this mean that Windows Update will mark SP2 from that date as
critical again, and you cannot avoid the SP2 update?

If you have used that tool, SP-2 will not be installed until 12 April by
Automatic Update.
If you have Automatic Update enabled after that time, SP-2 will be
installed.
If you are not yet ready for SP-2, you should disable Automatic Update to
prevent the installation of SP-2.
A better solution is to ensure the computer is ready for SP-2:
