I Seem to be seeing a lot of problems posted here about SP2 so i thought i
would add what happened to me and see if anyone can suggest a solution.

I have a 2 year old desktop running XP Home and a less than 1 year old
laptop running XP Pro, After installing SP2 on either machine i was no longer
able to access my handdrives contents directly. The computers would seize and
restart explorer if i tried to even get to the properties of the hard drives
to try a defrag or scandisk or try to delete a file from anywhere in the file
tree.

after using system restore and removing the SP2 update the computers are
working fine again. Has anyone else had this problem and if so is their a
fix.

"i dont have cd for operativsystem"
Was the computer supposed to come with a CD?
If so contact the manufacturer.

Some computers do not come with a CD.
In that case the manufacturer normally uses a hidden partition on the
hard drive to restore the computer.
Check the manual and/or contact the manufacturer for details.

If you bought the computer second hand and you did not get a CD,
contact the seller.
Otherwise you may not have a legitimate license for Windows XP.

When you are ready to install SP-2, follow the Service Pack
Installation Checklist:
