as far as i can determine, i do have all the latest and compatible drivers.
and after my second attempt at loading the pack, i did go down thru the
checklist. again, as far as i can tell, (granted, i'm a dinosaur) i have
done everything right. it's really weird. when it is done installing, it
acts as though everything is cool, no error messages or anything. but then
you find out some things don't work. i.e., the printer is still in
communication, but it can't send anything to it. when i go to the printer
control panel, not only is my hp photosmart 1000 not there, but i cannot
install ANY printer, it won't let me. try going to a previous restore point,
can't get there from here, error message sez that restore point application
is not accessible????
uninstall the SP2 and everything works again.
