XP SP2 installation error "branches.inf"

Hello All
I am recieving the following error while trying to install XP SP2:-
"Unable to copy the file branches.inf"

I am also asked to check that the place is correct or change it or insert
the SP2 update disc. In the dropdown box the file the system is trying to
copy from is:-

c:\windows\softwaredistribution\download\09f9ab0e3 3d3c7412090a19163d05424\up
date

If I try to download the file from windows update I am told that no updates
are available

Other info that may help
XP working in a wireless network, recently installed ADSL with no problem,
however during dial up then automatic updates was collecting SP2. I have
Zone Alarm running.

Also in the network I ahve another machine with the same firewall etc this
has never had dial up and recently collected the SP2 updates and installed
no problem.

How can I "remove" the update files from the system, reset the machine and
down load again

Fixed!
I needed to remove the protection on the .inf folder within the file below
and bingo!
