XP SP2 installation problem

My update works ok. XP SP2 downloads and installs - verified by the event
log. BUT-the 'about windows' menu under Help in explorer tells me I am still
on SP1. So it looks like it installs OK but leaves me on SP1. ANY IDEAS
ANYONE?

If you right click on My Computer, go to Properties and the General tab,
what does it say?
