XP SP2 stuck @ sqlxmlx.rll during install

Upgrading my PC to a 200gb hard drive. It is a 1.8Ghz intel PC, 512mb RAM.
Original MS Windows xp home cd. During SP2 download/install. the error comes
up:
Can't read from source file "sqlxmlx.rll". I've browsed to find the service
pack file, found it and clicked 'retry' once I found the file again to no
avail. Same error.
I have cancelled the whole install process twice now when it hangs on this
file. I even went to my other computer and copied the sqlxmlx.rll file and
pasted it here - that didn't work. I can't get past this spot during the XP
SP2 install.
Any ideas?

Your Windows XP installation CD is faulty. Try cleaning it, or replace it
with another copy from your vendor.

You mentioned "download/install". Which tends to make me think you're getting Service Pack 2 via download from MS.

Review the contents of the service pack log. C:\Windows\Svcpack.log or C:\WINNT\Svcpack.log
That should give a clue as to what happened during the run to install the service pack.
