XP SP2 update installation error: 0x80070020

I go to Microsoft update and try to download and install sp2, it downloads
the full file and then proceeds to start the installation, it just stops each
time and tells me that sp2 failed to install and then removes the download
and sends me to the page that shows you the failed or succesful downloads so
i then click on the failed download and it gives me a description of why it
has failed, but in typical computer/microsoft fashion all i get instead of a
description of the code is a meaningless error code which is: 0x80070020.
does anyone know what this code means? i am currently downloading all of the
other updates, and then will install sp1 as well maybe, but i would have
thouhgt that i could save myself a lot of download time and bandwidth by just
installing sp2. i am also downloading the it admin version of sp2that is 260
mb to see if that one will install, i don't want to wait 4-6 weeks for a sp2
disc to arrive, to then find that won't work either. any help would be
appreciated.

Try disabling your antivirus scanner before installing. (disconnect from the
internet as well)

You receive a "0x80070020 The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another
process" error message when you try to download an update from Windows Update or from Microsoft
Update
