XP SP2 WMC 'Automatic Update Could not be loaded'

At startup, My system is tripping on the Automatic Updates load. I get
continuous messages saying 'you should report this problem to Microsoft' and
as soon as I do (or select cancel or Debug) the error message re-appears...
dreadfully boring.

I posted this as a NEW issue, since the other folks are mostly having
trouble AFTER the updates load. I just can't get them to load!

Any ideas would be appreciated! B-)
