I have an older P4 PC with XP Home installed. THe install of SP3 was going
well till the end when I received a error and could not proceed further. I
ended up rebooting the PC which thankfully reverted back to previous
settings. The error was: RUNTIME ERROR 203 at 57804601. ANY suggestions
about what to do now would be appreciated.

I have the same problem. Keep getting Runtime Error 203 when trying to load SP3. It was right at the end when it was finishing and "running processes after install".
Tried cancelling the install and it kept popping up the same Runtime 203 message box. I think I will have to reboot and do a restore. Fortunately, I did a full backup using Lenovo's backup process.
I will probably try to enlarge my virtual RAM to make it as large as possible and then try SP3 install again.

You'll have to shut down *all* applications running in the background
and/or install SP3 in Safe Mode of Windows XP.

Bye,
