xp starter edition upgrade

My laptop came with xp starter edition for Africa, I need to upgrade to xp
home or xp pro please help.

I am not positive on this one - but I believe that would entail you
purchasing a full retail/oem version of your new OS (Windows XP Home or
Professional) and wiping the hard drive of the machine and putting the new
OS on. I don't think there is an upgrade path from Starter Edition to
anything else.

Again - I could be mistaken...
