I have recently upgraded a PC with service pack 2. The upgrade was not
successful and I was advised by Microsoft to do a BIOS upgrade. In the meat
time I mounted the hard drive on a second PC and ran malware checks (about
200 instances which removed). I then put the HDD back on the PC . I the ran a
Windows XP repair. On restarting I found the PC restarting continuously the
died (no display). I have tried a new power supply, different RAM a PCI VGA
card and a different monitor: the PC still has no display. What could have
gone wrong? Is it just motherboard failure? Please help

Kristal;
Power off open case and reseat all cards and cables.
If there is still no display of any kind, you should ask this in amore
appropriate newsgroup such as the hardware newsgroup since this is no
longer a Windows Update issue:
http://aumha.org/nntp.htm
You may also want to take the computer to a qualified tech.
