XP update after repair

I had to run the repair options from the original CDs for my HP tablet PC
TC1100.

This reset the system files to their original state, thus all updates are
lost. I went to windows update site
http://www.update.microsoft.com/micr....aspx?ln=en-us
and clicked the button 'Express' to have my computer checked for necessary
updates. But after a while I get an information that I'd need to download and
install a priority update before being able to get new updates. Clicking on
'details' the required priority update displays as the windows genuine
advantage check. I'm not willing to install this program as it was never
requested to be able to update windows before. I then searched the web again
and came accross the article that told me to a page where I found seven
command lines that I put into a batch file and executed it:

regsvr32 /s wuapi.dll
regsvr32 /s wuaueng1.dll
regsvr32 /s wuaueng.dll
regsvr32 /s wucltui.dll
regsvr32 /s wups2.dll
regsvr32 /s wups.dll
regsvr32 /s wuweb.dll

after that I went to the windows update page again and I was offered some 90
updates which I chose to download. However I was never informed by my windows
thereafter if those downloads had completed and I never had the chance to
install them. I frankly don't knoe if those updates werre executed or not. Is
there any way to either check my update status with some special software or
to reset all updates and start over again?

Hi there,

In control panel choose add remove programs and mark the box show updates
near and about on the right upper corner.

You should see the updates listed now, if not they are not installed.

Best regards,
Michel Denie

You'll need to install the WGA ActiveX Control (which is /not/ the "WGA
Notification tool") to be able to check your Update History at
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com. Otherwise, examine Add/Remove Programs
(Show Updates box must be checked) to see if these updates have been
installed.
