XP update Error Code: 8024402C

I am trying to update XP from a LAN.
I have got a FW checkpoint NG installed.
I am receiving the Error Code: 8024402C .
Could somebody help me.

It appears to be a proxy/firewall problem. Did you try the suggestions in
the following article provided by the Windows Update Troubleshooter?

Hi;
I am not behind a firewall and check your sugg. with no luck, I never had
this problem while always managing to get the updates, I am using a router at
home and another pc on this router did not have any issue getting the update
while my laptop fails!

I also have the same problem.

I was trying to follow these instructions and failed:

1. Remove invalid characters from the proxy exception list and then clear
the proxy cache.

I didn't check proxy box at all.

2. A misconfigured Proxy/Firewall can cause this problem. Double-check the
Proxy/Firewall settings. Add the following urls to the exception list within
your Firewall/Proxy:

Could you give me some more detailed information on that?

It's irritating that this problem is not solved..

I am having the same problem. I have tried the suggestions in the support
centre, including yours below, and still no luck.

Any suggestions?
