I have a problem emailing Microsoft Tech Support ablut my XP update
installation problem.
I had XP loaded but was having problem with FTP downloads (verrrry slooow),
US Robotics support said I needed to reload the TCP/IP files from the Windows
XP CD.
I inserted the Win XP CD and selected Install XP, it proceded to download
updated Setup files from Microsoft and continued the installation to the
"Installing Devices" section and about 2/3's through that (with only 34 min.
to completion) the screen went black for just 1 pr 2 sec. and then returned
to normal shortly it turned black again and for just a flash there was a full
screen of text (not long enough to read and Pause button wouldn't freez it)
then the system rebooted and started installation agin form what appeared to
the begining of the "Installing Devices" section again displaying that there
were 37 minutes to completion, again repeation when there were 34 minutes to
completion. This continued for maby 10 cycles.
Now I can't get the system to boot with calling for the Win. XP CD.
I can't contact Microsoft Tech Support without the Product ID number, and
can't get to that ID number unless the system will boot.
Can anyone help me find a way to email Microsoft Tech Support without the
Product ID number or suggest how to get the installation to complete.
I tried entering the Product Key from the CD but it didn't work.
Please advise
