XP/Vista Printer sharing on different workgroup/domains

Vista computer 'Workgroup' is hooked up and set for file/print sharing,
however laptop running XP (attached to domain) cannot access Vista printer.

- Network is set to private
- printer is shared, public folders shared
- password protection off
- windows firewall is the only firewall and I've tried it with and without
firewall on
- internet connection works fine on both vista and xp machines
- When browsing the network, i can see the Workgroup from the XP machine,
but cannot connect to it. it doesn't show any computers on the workgroup,
only shows the workgroup.

I've read the instructions and see that it is recommended that both machines
are in the same workgroup/domain. This is unfortunately not possible to do
in this case (work machine & home machine).

Any ideas?

Is the laptop "running XP (attached to domain)" attached to a domain there, or
is it normally attached to a domain, and simply transplanted to your workgroup
as convenient?

If the latter, there are several possible problems with its being transplanted
to your home network. Any of these three issues could be a result of how the
domain is setup.
1) Browsing (identifying other computers).
2) Name resolution (finding addresses of other computers).
3) Server access (accessing other computers).
