XP3 update installed and can only restart in "safe mode"

After I've installed XP Service Pack 3, my computer will not restart. Black
screen with "restart windows in safe mode" the only option that will work.
Tried disabling virus program and firewall, same problem. Went down the list
they asked to try and same problem. Anyone else with this problem? It's
driving me mad!

I just posted a similar question before I saw your post. I am having the
same problem. I've tried to install SP3 twice already and had the same
problem both times. I hope someone can help us out.

Thank God there's somebody else out there!
I'll let you know if some of my neighbors who are CalPolySLO Students can
take pity on our plight.

Same problem here. I don't think MS is ware of this issue. Go to this link
to decide on how you want to restore your computer,
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/950718/en-us. As for me, I just said to heck
with it and performed a System Restore in Safe Mod. Everything returned to
normal. Nonetheless it will be another 6 months before I try to update to
this version.

I have had these problems too. Have you had any luck resolving this you. I
thought it was me, going crazy here.!!!

I HAVE TRIED SYSTEM RESTORE AND NOW HAVE A SCREEN RESOLUTION PROBLEM.IS MS
GETTING WORSE OR IS IT MY IMAGINATION?
