xp64 updates

I installed xp64 a few days ago and I am having great difficulty in checking
for the latest updates!

I keep on getting an error "Error number: 0x8DDD0004".

It tells me I have to download the latest update software, but there is no
update happening. I just get a page with the error "Windows Update has
encountered an error and cannot display the requested page. Try refreshing
the page, clearing your Internet Explorer Temporary Internet Files, closing
and restarting Internet Explorer, or trying Windows Update again later."

I have done that, but with no luck! I have searched the forums and have
found many answers to solving this problem, but none of them are helping me...

Please help me!
