Check the System event log. Go to Start > Run type in
eventvwr.msc
Click OK
Click on System in the left frame
Under Type look for Errors
The Errors should show a driver listed under Source if that's where the
issue lies.
Another log to check out would be the setupapi.log located in %windir%
Suggest starting at the bottom and working your way back up to the top
to look for error codes associated with a failed driver install.
The issue *sounds* as if it stems from the Power Options, specifically,
system standby. Perhaps the Motherboard needs the BIOS flashed ?
Have you checked the manufacturer's web site to see if one is available
that is related to SP2 ?
