xxx.exe is not a valid Win32 Application

My PC is uptodate in term of updates with Windows XP and protect by Norton
antivirus, Microsoft Firewall.

I am trying to install a cam driver of Mustek and it give the error "Run.exe
is not a valid Win32 Application", (run.exe is the startup program on the
CDROM. I get the same error on driver of Mustek downloaded via Net. On my
portable, both works fine....

I have try to run other programs via Explorer and they start and run well....

I have try all the compatibiities options (run as a Win95 prg..)

I have run 2 antivirus (no problems)

Last but not least, a double click on the Network driver doesnot opens the
propriety window and the Firewall must be started manualy each time I boot
the system.

MMMM... have any clue. My opinion is that somehow, Explore.exe has been
damage. How do I repair files or set of files with Windows XP / SP2 ?
