yahoo interoperability inoperable?

No yahoo users show up as online on my messenger list even though they can
message me. What gives? I've reinstalled and deleted the contact, added them
back, etc. All to no avail.

Indeed this new interoperability is a bit shakey at times, but I'm almost
possitive it's due to server problems.
