Yahoo! Messenger failure: Suspecting a recent Windows Update

Since December 12, I have been unable to launch Yahoo! Messenger and have
also been unable to succeed in any means of repairing it. Because Yahoo!
Messenger worked properly up to the 10th, I suspect a recent Windows Update
might be the source of the problem, that one of the eight updates for Windows
Vista might be gumming up Yahoo! Messenger in its attempts to launch. Can
somebody give me a clue as to what updates, if any, might be causing the
problem?

None. I have Yahoo Messenger on three computers -- all updated -- and no
problems with YM.
