Vista Home Prem on Dell Inspiron. Installed Yahoo Messenger. After
signing in buddy list window opens in upper right corner of desktop and is
stuck there. Can't grab the title bar and drag it anywhere. Also the Min,
Max, Close buttons don't work. Have to right click and select the options
from the menu. Yesterday, my desktop went blank, I got an error message
saying explorer crashed, then it seemed to restore itself and the desktop
came back. When it did, the Yahoo buddy list window behaved normally. I
could left click on the title bar and drag it around and I could click any
of the Min, Max, Close buttons and they worked. This morning after
starting the computer and opening Yahoo Messenger it's back to a dead title
bar. Any ideas why this is happening and how to fix it?

Which version of Yahoo Messenger is this? Have you tried reinstalling the
software or install the latest version?

Same version I have. I think it's the latest, only installed it from
Yahoo's site 5 days ago. Guess I could try uninstalling and reinstalling
again. They do show a version 9 beta on their site. Don't know if I want
to mess around with betas, though.

Nick,

I installed the beta version right over the other one - seems to be OK.
With both versions I got a couple of ''**** won't open, blah blah blah"
I ignored them all.
I am running Ultimate w/SP1 RC1 - fwiw
