Yet Another 80070241 Error

Have been getting the 80070241 error so I downloaded the ISO again and burned
it at the slowest setting that Nero would allow. But, I still get the error.

I broke my RAID array and configured the SATA controller in the BIOs to
emulate an IDE drive, and still got the error.

I can use this newest DVD, as well as the others I've burned before it, to
install successfully on a system with an IDE drive, but not on the SATA
system.

Any ideas?

try reburning the ISO at a low speed, 2x recommended, also do a CRC check on
the ISO to find out its integrity. Nero MD5 Verifier is a recommended
choice. If setup still fails, its likely a bad download.

Here are the MD5/CRC values for x86 or x64 depending on which every ISO you
downloaded:

x86
- File Size = 3.12 GB (3,355,598,848 bytes)
- CRC Value = 0x67E089E0
- MD5 Value = 0E733AB1A8E8FF9A8684FD3639332773
x64
- File Size = 4.01 GB (4,309,368,832 bytes)
- CRC Value = 0x48697711
- MD5 Value = E43502D0A15EADD551119D5639859E04

Paste the MD5 Checksum for either x64 or x86 depending on which one you want
check in Step 1, Step 2 - Browse to where you stored the ISO on your drive
and open it and it will automatically start the varification process and
generate the has in the third field, if it matches Step 1, then you are
safe.

Thanks Andre, my MD5 checksums are correct. My ISOs are good. I've been
burning these at the 2x speed, but I still get the error.

Have you tried alternative methods of installing, such as extracting the
contents of the ISO image to a folder in an existing installation of Windows
and launch setup from there? Also, you could try using Virtual Drive tools
such as Daemon Tools or NERO Image Drive.

I sure am glad to see Andre back posting here. I hope it will continue with
frequency. All his ideas are great--just to add--if you try VM ware,
another good alternative is as Colin has detailed often Virtual Server R2, a
free download from MSFT or Virtual PC Here are some helpful links as to it:
