I keep entering my name (first name & surname) in the field as other users
see me.
Few days later this is chamged in only first name... all by itself :-((

It seems nowadays Messenger has a will of its own...

Hi,

Are you logging into other non-Windows Live Messenger 2009 clients by any chance?

I use "JK" as my display name, but if I log into a client which uses MSNP8 (MSN Protocol
version 8, like Windows Messenger) it switches to "Jonathan".

Hi Jonathan,

Nope, I have installed Windows Live Messenger version 2009 (Build
14.0.8089.726) under Windows XP on my PC and the very same version under
Vista on my notebook.
Of course it may be safely assumed that users don't want to have changed any
entries "automatically" by Messenger.
