After upgrading from MSN 7.5, I am experiencing the same login problems
reported here.
I ran the .reg file, restart WLM, and when trying to connect I get a failed
login error message with code 8004882c.
If i click on the Retry button, I go into the endless login thing....

Any help?

My live is back "alive".
I pretty much gave up after last night. Attempted again four hours ago on a
workable live (one which someone else was able to log on with a different
account) and didn't work.
Then I just saw this post,
http://www.microsoft.com/communities...ecb5cba02c&p=1
Decided to try again. Deleted my 3rd redownload file and redownloaded from
msn website again. It's all functioning fine now. I guess I should have just
waited and no work would have been necessary
Hope it's working out for everyone!

Greetings,

You can also try this.

Go to Start, run, then type "regedit"

Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\microsoft\MSNMessenger\ Policies

Delete the key "contacts.msn.com"

Then, try launching Windows Live Messenger again.
