I have mentioned this before, and am still having problems. This, main
computer Vista Home Premium 6, SP1, IE7, is connected (Broadband) to
another computer, XP Home sp3, IE 7.........I have tried several times, on
the XP Home computer, to get this particular update, and each time I have
the same result.......Error Code OX 800 7F0F1 Cumulative Security Update IE7
Windows XO (KB961260) fails to install...in my Update History it is listed,
as failed,a dozen or so times, along with another one,
KB950215................my question is, should I just 'hide' the first
update KB961260, and should I/if so how, delete the other failed updates?
Are they a problem if I just leave them listed?

Any beta software installed?

The reason KB950215 failed to install may also be relevant to why KB961260
fails to install.

Have you tried downloading the file from here (KB961260):

If in fact the package is incompatible to the files on your system you may
need to obtain support from MS to sort it out

Judging from other recent and nearly identical posts, there is a very good
chance are that you are seeing the affects of a hijackware infection.

1. See if you can download/run the MSRT manually:
http://www.microsoft.com/security/ma...e/default.mspx

2. Run this online scan (in safe mode w/networking, if need be):
http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/center/howsafe.htm

3. Run a /thorough/ check for hijackware, including posting the requested
logs in an appropriate forum, not here.

If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this
isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a local, reputable and
independent (i.e., not BigBoxStoreUSA) computer repair shop.
