Yikes : Error 80070424 HELP!

Upon booting my computer, I tend to get a pop-up window that states "
C:\\Windows\System32\msupdate.exe . The NTVDM CPU has encountered an illegal
instruction. CS:1335 IP:3td0 0P:ff ff 00 00 00. " And i have to close to
terminate the program. After which, i couldn't update my window with window
updater as I will then get error code 80070424. Please help me . thanks .
