"Your User Profile Has Not Loaded Correctly."

I am using Vista Home Premium. It had been working satisfactorily until
about a month ago, on startup, it loaded the Windows default desktop and
gave me the error message "Your User Profile has not loaded correctly. See
Event Log". The Administrative Events Log showed one or more "User Profile
Service" errors. I do not know enough to understand them, but one, but one
error number was 1502. I can try to get more information from the log if
that will help. Restarting fixed the problem.

This same error is now occurring occasionally but increasingly often.

What is going wrong? What do you advise I do?
