Doesn't Media Center use zap2it for the Guide features? Does this news mean
something bad for Media Center, such as Microsoft having to send an
Automatic Update to either kill the Guide or ask the Windows user for a
credit card number to start using Gemstar, or something?

They are stopping end users from programmatically getting at the guide.

That's completely different from eliminating deals with other companies
(e.g. Microsoft).

Some of us who watch only ATSC stations use zap2it instead of MCE's guide so
we can get the digital subchannels. This is bad news. I'm going to regret
going back to MCEs guide.

When is Microsoft going to include digital subchannels in their guide?
