Zero updates of any kind avalible from windows update

I have several computers that are refusing to show avalible updates
from windowsupdate.*.com and are also not updating themselves with
automatic updates.
The baseline security analyizer shows several updates that are not
installed. If I goto each qfe from the link in the analyizer I am able
to download and install them.
When I choose custom install from the windows update website the scan
completes successfully and shows there are no updates avalible of any
kind.
-0 High Priority
-0 Optional software
-0 Optional hardware

The points of interest I can pull from the log file are as follows:

-Update NOT required for C:\WINDOWS\MUI\FALLBACK\0410\wucltui.dll.mui:
(//*there are MANY of these*//)

-update {1FD3B3AC-9E83-4286-8369-D122669C24F6} has no local extended
metadata. Do not return it (//*there are MANY of these, what I am
guessing is one per update*//)

-ISusInternal API failed CClientCallRecorder:isconnectCall with error
0x8024000c
-ISusInternal:isconnectCall failed, hr=8024000C

I have tried other methods listed on the forums such as deleting
windowsupdate registry key, renaming the software distribution folder,
renaming catroot2, and registering more dlls that I can remember with
no success.

Any suggestions would be appreciated, I can provide more of the logs if
they would help.

Thanks in advance.

Hi;

Open a CMD window, and at the prompt type this:

proxycfg -u

then type EXIT to close the CMD window. Now give WU a try.

Note the above is from a post by Harish G. [MS] in this newsgroup on the 7th
of this month. You can see that post for background info, if you wish.

My installation history shows no updates installed. This is likely
correct as the image was loaded only a couple weeks ago. The image
itself was created last october and is just a base xp pro/sp2/mui
packs.
